You walked past me today and…
For a brief moment in time,
We shared the same space
enjoying life at a similar pace.
Walking through a city of LOVE –
Can you feel it? The love, that is…
as you look into
a passerby’s face?
Do you know you are more
than glances and stares,
pictures to be taken with hopes
to catch you unaware?
Are you a trophy,
a conversation,
a bragging right
alone?
Are you somebody, like the rest of us…
Only hoping sometimes
to pass for the
unknown?
This is not my first time
passing by someone like you,
and both times I’ve pondered, wondered…
“What about you?”
How is your day
what are the thoughts on your mind
as you embrace simple moments
to pass the time?
Today, there doesn’t seem to be a show.
No camera, no directing,
no script to memorize, no acting,
no pretending –
this day is part of your real life,
as it is mine.
Please know you are thought of
and that others care, hoping to
grant you a moment
free of fan fare.
As for me, I’m offering up a simple prayer:
May you know the goodness of God’s redeeming love;
May you find Him
and all you’re looking for –
May you know true love.
Who would’ve thought
we’d cross paths in this place?
The children, butterflies;
simple beauty and grace?
Some are thankful
Excited that you LOVE this city –
we call HOME.
Pass through freely; you are not alone.
Thank you for returning to the screen
Once more to move us.
May this time it be different for you
a CREED, with less fuss.
An enjoyable time to reflect
and look inside.
Time to evaluate your heart
and all that’s precious in life.
As you tell the story on the screen once more
May your spirit go…
Deeper…
And dream much bigger…
that somewhere, there’s someone
(many, in fact) that pray for you
to find joy, peace; time to relax.
I pray God speaks to your heart
in a gentle whisper
Hear Him above all the lights and sounds
that in your life, His truth will abound.
I’m thankful we shared
this brief moment in time
May this poem bless your life
as your life work has blessed mine.
Dear celebrity, thank you –
blessings from this city of LOVE
and more importantly from
the great God above.

It was a wonderful, innocent moment. My family and friends were enjoying time in a butterfly garden at a museum (on Saturday, actually)… when “Rocky” walked gently past us. My friend’s teenage son did get a selfie with him to sort of “represent” the moment. It was low-key in this small children’s museum. He and a bodyguard were just simply enjoying the moment. The adults knew he was there… but smiled – and let him be in the moment. It was beautiful. Proud of my city of Brotherly LOVE 🙂

Beautiful Poem…A reminder that many need to “have a heart” for the Celebrities that sacrifice their lives for “our” entertainment!

I grew up rubbing elbows with quite a few “bigwigs,” and gained the firm conviction that we are all equal human beings before Father God. When we forget that, about ourselves or about someone else, we lose a great deal.
